At Smile for All Society, we believe education is not just about books, but about holistic growth. A healthy mind is as important as a curious mind.
With this thought, we are grateful to have organized a special Yoga Nidra – A Journey into Deep Rest session for our students and volunteers at our Kolkata Centre.
The session was held on 13th September at Jyotirmai Seva Mandir, Ballygunge, Kolkata, and was beautifully guided by Anandmurti Gurumaa, on the kind invitation of Mohua Ma’am. The theme for the day was simple yet powerful: Take a Pause, Breathe, Feel Better.

Why Yoga Nidra for Our Children?
The children we work with often come from challenging backgrounds where stress, anxiety, and lack of focus are constant companions. Yoga Nidra, often called ‘yogic sleep’, is not just physical exercise. It is a guided relaxation technique that helps in:
1. A Calm Mind: It helps release stress and anxiety and brings inner peace. 2. Better Focus: Regular practice improves concentration, memory, and learning ability in children. 3. A Brighter You: It restores energy and builds self-confidence and emotional balance.
For an hour, our students lay down, closed their eyes, and went on a journey inside. No competition, no pressure – just breathing and being. Watching them smile with such peace after the session was truly heartwarming.
A Community Effort
This wonderful morning was made possible by the dedication of our Kolkata team and Kolkata Centre. Their commitment to the mental well-being of our children goes beyond the classroom.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Anandmurti Gurumaa for her compassionate guidance and to Mohua Ma’am for inviting us and creating such a serene space at Jyotirmai Seva Mandir.
At Smile for All, we dream of A Healthier, Happier Community. Initiatives like Yoga Nidra are small steps towards that big dream – where every child not only learns to read and write, but also learns to pause, breathe, and find happiness within.
